Sometimes I wonder if Republicans regret helping George into the WH and I wonder if some of them wish somehow he was a " DEMOCRAT" president instead.
Instead things are way out of whack and only progressing further in the same direction. It will be an interesting 18 months.

ODanny: We are going to have to disagree here.
Also important to keep in mind is at one time we had protections under the Constitution and habeas corpus protections. I hold Bush accountable for getting us into an unnecessary war and I have grave doubts he was ever elected in his first term and FAIRLY elected for his second. But you wanted him this badly, you got him.

George W. Bush rules the nation and is a Republican. Therefore Bush is a symbol of the Republican Party, he starts going astray like this and getting out of whack and the Republican Party doesn't do much about it, it reflects as an embarrassement to all of us Republicans. I know I am one and I'm embarrassed to call myself one in this point in time. If the Democrats have to try to yank him back down to earth, it is a big downfall to the Republican party to continue to stand by his side. He hasn't carried through with many of his promises from the start, he continues to support and send in more troops to die in a war that is never ending and doesn't really make sense anymore. Something else needs to be done in that war if military fighting isn't succeding and Bush just keeps sending in more troops. Too much money is being spent over there and not enough here. I think George Bush has really put a damper on the Republican Party.

After the bombing of the Cole, the truck bombing of the World Trade Center and more , the Democratic President did little or nothing. Remember Black Hawk Down ? We should have carpet bombed the place but instead as soon as the liberals started whinning Clinton pulled out and gave us another loss. People have forgotten how they felt that morning , watching the plains slam into the World Trade Center. However that was only another escalation of what had been getting worse for years. Bush did the right thing and is still doing the right thing. He warned us in the beginning this would be a long war against a new kind of enemy. And it is even harder to fight when CNN and the liberals constantly give comfort and encouragement to our enemies. Whilw waging this war he has managed to kick our economy and employment into high gear with record new homes bought and lower interest rates so we can afford them. He has lowered our taxes and appointed ther kind of Supreme Court nominees that he said he would. Don't listen to CNN,CBS or MSNBC for your opinion. Take a hard look at the facts for yourself, listen to all sides. This man ain't no Jimmie Carter my friend. I am proud to say I voted for him.

There are a growing number of republicans against Bush. They say, among other things:

"The threat to the institutions that have made this country great have intensified. The zealots who give George his power are established. The attack meant to destroy Social Security is under way. The two class society is under construction! The Attorney General in charge of destroying civil rights is on Board, and government is free to invade our lives. Big Business is in Power and getting Bigger. Oil Interests and the Military Industrial forces that Ike warned us about are well organized and in control. The schill proclaiming a Bush Democracy around the Globe (whether you want it or not!) is advancing as the expense builds for our kids and grandkids, ad infinitum, for the next hundred years. Our military is being decimated in a fight for which they are not trained or equipped. And above all sits the Idiot, King George! We went through this 240 or so years ago! I will continue my active support for recovery of the Republican Party. I will continue to believe that Extremes of Christian Religion are no more desirable than Extremes of the Muslim or any other Religion. I will continue to believe that our first 230 years as a nation were built upon acceptance of the tenet that all men are created equal and that our government has responsibility to protect all of the governed from the dictates of the few! Our government exists only to resolve problems we cannot resolve individually. "

Guess that would depend on what party you are affiliated with. I didn't like Bill Clinton very much, but I did not agree with the Republicans trying to destroy him every chance they had. Kind of like the same situation now. The Democrats are more worried about regaining their power and keeping it than what is good for the country. Look at the war. The Democrats voted for it and sabotaged the whole effort behind closed doors because it was in their best interests at the time to support the war in the public eye. Now we are going to have to wait around to be hit again by the terrorists before we wake up again. It will happen again...mark my words...and it doesn't matter who is in office at the time, who was in office before him, or who is going to be in office. We are head for trouble because most politicians first responsibility is to keep their power.

As long as MiddleClassAndNotQuiet remains a Republican, the Republican Party will be alive and kicking. But I'm hoping she'll switch to the Libertarian Party.

no, George Bush has kept his word, the RINO's (republicans in name only) have castrated the Republican party, it is no longer a conservative base, so it stands for nothing, which is precisely where the WIGS were at prior to their demise to the Republican Party around the time of the Civil War.

You are partially right, but confused.
The only complaint against Bush is that in some areas he IS a little like Democrats.

Credence to the theory? Have the republicans and conservatives gone completely deft, dumb, and blind to overlook the incompetency of their chosen one starting from the 911 day?

if your that naive that your actually thinking hillary r is going to get you somewhere, let me remind you of what the last eight years of a clinton were like

- The only president ever impeached on grounds of personal malfeasance
- Most number of convictions and guilty pleas by friends and associates*
- Most number of cabinet officials to come under criminal investigation
- Most number of witnesses to flee country or refuse to testify
- Most number of witnesses to die suddenly
- First president sued for sexual harassment.
- First president accused of rape.
- First first lady to come under criminal investigation
- Largest criminal plea agreement in an illegal campaign contribution case
- First president to establish a legal defense fund.
- First president to be held in contempt of court
- Greatest amount of illegal campaign contributions
- Greatest amount of illegal campaign contributions from abroad
- First president disbarred from the US Supreme Court and a state court
if you really want that kind of behavior for a president than its my belief that you have much more serious issues at stake then who is going to be president. sorry liberal, you lose on this one. the repubs are alive well and mad as hell trust me.
there are some basic principles we believe in
character matters
i know what is....is
lying is still lying and when under oath should be punished by JAIL TIME not a public apology and a wrist slap
travelgate, filegate, whitewater, the montana land grab, the vince foster coverup, the cattle futures fiasco, etc were crimes and not behavior worthy of a president
there is nothing wrong, illegal or immoral about getting and keeping more of what i legitimately earn and im living proof that the middle class benifited from the bush tax cuts that offered relief from the clinton largest tax increase in us history.
taxing social security and the clinton administration casting the tie breaking vote to do so demonstrated the most colossal misunderstanding of the american economy by any president in over two hundred years.

i dont really care if you want this type of individual in the white house..when i see something like a roach i dont welcome it i get rid of it quickly as we intend to do in 2008.
