1.Where does pollen need to be taken in order for a flower to make seeds?

2,The hair on a honeybee;s hind legs is sometimes called a pollen basket. Why do you think this is?

3.Wind can also move pollen from one flower to another. Which do you think is more efficient at pollinating plants, the wind or the honeybee? Explain.

1. Imperfect flowers, or flowers with only male or female reproductive organs, need their pollen spread to another flower with the opposite organs so that the flower can reproduce. For a male reproductive organ, there is the stamen, which produces pollen. The stigma on the female reproductive organ receives the pollen and the flower can then reproduce, meaning a seed is produced.

2. When a bee is feeding from a flower, pollen collects on his hind legs, and this pollen is spread as the bee travels from flower to flower. The hairs on its legs are so important in pollinating flowers so that they can repreoduce.

3. Bees, in my opinion, are more efficient. Think about it--bees will always be traveling from flower to flower to feed, but will there always be a wind that will blow pollen directly onto other flowers? Bees come in more direct contact with the flowers, and there are very large populations of bees, so flowers pollinating is more probable this way. This connects with #2 obviously.

I hope I helped you with this!!!

I guess you know the first two answers. The third is an interesting question. Nature has a funny way of of being very efficient when it comes to self preservation. I would say it absolutely depends on the type of plant in question. Some plants have more success with the wind while others need the honeybee to survive. Each plant type is different, so the different methods are necessary for success.

2. I'm guessing the hair on a honeybee's hind legs is called a pollen basket because they collect/carry pollen there?

3.The bee would be more effiecient, because the wind could blow the pollen anywhere; the bee makes sure the flower is taken care of.

If you get an A, let me know.

Do your own homework. Thanks for the 2 pts!

You live in the age of the internet and you are complaining you don't have a textbook??? Do your own research and reading to figure it out and quit expecting others to spoonfeed you answers because you forgot your textbook. Don't let your dog eat your homework either. And if you are sick, why are you going to school tomorrow anyway?

Can someone answer these questions?

Yes, I can.

But you really need to crack open that textbook and do your own homework.
