If you decided you had to get out of a moving car, would you jump, by turning as if to get out or would you jump out backwards.

It would seem logical at first (And its what I at first thought I would do) to try and jump backwards to cancel out some of your momentum, but I realize now that this would, as far as I can see, be a poor choice. If you really think about it, you can't shave much of your momentum off by jumping backwards- so you go from 65mph to 57mph- big deal. Also, hitting the pavement at the angle opposite of the direction you're going might not be best for your skin- I like mine on my body. After careful consideration I'd jump forward, my head facing out and my feet toward the car, in the direction I'm going and roll as fast as I could. This to me, while seemingly illogical, seems to be the most logically safe action to take in such a situation.

I would jump faced the way I would as if I were getting out. I think it would be hard to get turned backwards...

If I were in such a situation, I'm afraid the circumstances would warrant such an urgency on my part that I wouldn't be thinking about whether to use this technique or that. I would just be getting the hell out of the moving vehicle in whatever way, shape or form that seemed the most expedient at the time and throw all caution to the wind.

I would climb up through the sun roof, and jump as if from a moving train--which I've never done either.
