of course! ive never seen a better passer in my life. He really knows how to lead a team. look at pheonix this year! and look at them last year without stoudamire. nash is a big part of what has happened with that franchise. you saw what happened when he was injuered for a few games... and he can score in the clutch! did u see the way he destroyed dallas last time they met! i think it was a double ovetime victory. he deserves MVP.

Nash and Kobe have the current headlines but that is mostly about selling the NBA to the public rather than who is the best player ever. Twenty years from now when the name Steve Nash is offered up to a younger generation, when some other new player is ruling the day, they will respond with, "who?"
Jordan still gets plenty of mention as the greatest ever, but he has a lot of rings and hasn't been gone from the game that long. But was he really "the best" or just another of many great players?
Chamberlain was so dominant in his day that he forced the game to change the rules. Oscar Robertson was almost equally as dominant. He once averaged a triple double for an entire season and is credited with inventing the fall away jumper. Bob Cousey was the Steve Nash from days of yore -- long ago forgotten by most and nothing but another "who's that" to the younger fan.
And we haven't even mentioned Dr. J or Bill Russell, Larry Bird or Magic Johnson. No, I never pay much attention to all of that "who's the greatest" talk. It's always in reference to one of the current players and is pretty much just another way of marketing the game. But Nash is currently the most fun to watch, and that's the only reason I turn on the games.

Hi Nicole L,
Steve Nash is probably the best Canadian player ever. But there's: Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, Wilt Chamberlin, etc., etc. i'm not even sure that Steve Nash is even one of the top 3 point guards ever.
Kindly,
Nickster

Come on now, Nash isn't a better point guard than Magic? In some circles Magic is considered the second best player ever. I love Nash, however, he is no different than the Nash who was in Dallas, he has better finishers, and great shooters along with a great uptemp system that fits his style of play. No one was saying how great Nash was in Dallas, yeah they would admit he had game, but when when he got to Phoenix with those other players that Marbury ignored, he took them to the next level because they needed that pure point guard out there.

He's the best player now but I can name ten all-time players better than him: Michael Jordan, John Havlichek, Larry Bird, Wilt Chamberlin, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Magic Johnson, Bill Russel, Julius Ervin, Karl Malone, and Moses Malone

Nash is good, but Jordan still remains the king. Can Nash dunk from the freethrow line or play with a 103 degree fever??

I'd say Steve Nash is one of the best players in NBA. He has been MVP twice already and that is a good thing since he is a Canadian and no Canadian has ever won MVP twice in a row. He could even win MVP for this year. There is a lot of great players in the NBA like Tim Duncan, Allen Iverson, Chris Bosh, and many more.
