I'm asking because of recent events that have happened to me every girl I use to know and think hey shes a really good friend seems to turn out all they wanted was to get to know me and be my girlfriend and as soon as I say I'm not intersted all the conversations just stop I'm not sure anymore if men and women really can be just good friends or if someone will always try to make it more than just friends

A woman and I became very, very good friends at work. She didn't much like the women she worked with and I never much cared for the guys I worked with so we gravitated towards each other. There was absolutely no hanky panky between us but the rest of the company swore that we were having an affair simply because we took our breaks and our lunches together. Some people were so convinced that we were indeed having an affair that they felt it necessary to call our spouses...anonymously of course...and cause problems at home. People need to mind their own business, don't you think?

The truthful answer is yes they can be friends, but eventually the man or the women will fall for their friend, and depending how strong the friendship is they can end up staying friends. There is bond to be a little sting from the rejection, but it will sting less after time. If the friendship was weak the friendship will be terminated after the rejection. Especially if it's the women who was rejected, mostly because women don't handle rejection well at all!

I am a STRAIGHT man, I have multiple female friends. I've slept with them all. None of them wanted relationships, so I guess you could say we were "just friends". It's really hard to be friends with a woman without sexual feelings arising. When your really good friends, there is some love there, it's hard to keep that love exclusively platonic. Especially when you add large amounts of alcohol. So in short, YES and NO.

1) At least 1 of them is gay.
OR
2) The women is not attracted to/romantically interested in the man.

Definitly!!!! all my bffs are guys.......i have a couple good friends that are girls but my friendship with them just doesnt always stay strong!!!!! But with the guys i know they got my back!!!!! Mabey before you become friends say were friends and i hope we stay only friends.......U get what i mean???? If they say yeah you just want to b friends then your set!!!!! one thing that helps me is, not to be too flirty even though their your bff doesnt mean you can be flirty to the extreme..............so set your prioritys beetween your friendship straight and your great!!!!!! If she sais she likes you as more than a friend say im really sorry but i dont have the same feelings towards you im sorry.........but please dont let this change anything!!!

i have many male friends. I can't stand other females acualy i have very few female friends. (like 2) most of my friends are male. I always used to hang out with them alot though now we are all busy with our lives but we still all talk and get together on special occasions (my guy friends were the ones who threw my baby shower ^_^)

I think they can, I have a guy as a friend. But if your friend is cute or handsome it can be a problem. It can be a problem because of the attraction. Just keep looking for that friend.

you are an idiot if you have never slept with any of these women. and NO women and men cannot be freinds. see the movie "when harry met sally" starring billy crystal and meg ryan. that will explain everything to you. Guys (except in your case) can never be just friends with women because guys dont think like that. guys just have girls that they have not slept with yet. have you ever considered the possibility that you are a homo?

I believe you can be friends...but not BEST friends...even if it is platonic, the appearences could cause you lots of trouble.
