Mine is there because I got tired of finding that people had hit the front of my Santa Fe. The first time, it cost me $350.00 to have the bumper repaired. Put on the "brush" guard, and now I find paint on it all the time! Those plastic bumpers can't take very much before you are fixing them.

By the way, got the guard off the internet for under $300.

My car has never been off road. I don't think the guard looks "sporty", but it sure protects the car from idiots.

Like they said above. To protect against brush. A lot of people buy them cuz they "look sporty." And the closest they come to brush, is when they are in their driveway next to the trees and shrubs.

But the main purpose is to protect the radiator at all costs. If you break a light your vehicle will run, but a stick in the right place can puncture the radiator. So hopefully, the brush guard will brush away the brush.

honestly it does just what it says, it guards against brush, meaning that mounted to your front sub frame it stops brush and what not from hitting your grill and headlights.
