I just turned 15 and I want to open a savings account for a car. I have $200. I live in LA. What bank has the highest interest over a one year period. Any recommendations?

I use ING. It has a better rate then my bank that I have my checking account with.
HSBC has a promo rate right now ow 6% for new money. I think you get the promo rate for six months or something and then it drops down to their regular savings rate.

Open an Orange Savings Account with ING Direct and your will earn 4.50% APR.
They are solid and the original bank to offer a high interest savings account.

Go to www.bankrate.com adn search for the higest CD rate being offered. But I wouldnt recommend you put your money into bank savings. The returns are quite pathetic being around 4-5%.
Tell your mom to help you open a brokerage account and put you money into a good mutual fund.

Some of the Internet banks offer better interest rates than your regular banks in town. We use ING and they offer about 4.5% compared to the 1% we were getting with Wells Fargo.
Check out bankrate.com, you just type in your zip code and they tell you interest rates off all the banks around you.

Interest rate is no big deal, not familiar with La. banks, try
BB&T on line or Capital One is good for youngsters. Question is who will finance your car ?
