Why do people act the way they look?

This isn't true for everyone but for most people. I dont like to generalize but I noticed that you can make a good prediction of someone's character just from looking at their face. I cant really explain. Some people just have the nice look, the arrogant look, the backstabber look, etc. Most of the time people that look a certain way act a certain way. why

I think people make themselves look a certain way, even subconsciously, and that way reflects their personality.

I've seen these makeover shows, where they take someone and make them look like an entirely different person. It's amazing how many varied ways that one person can look! If someone else had my same exact physical features, they could make me look entirely different (and they'd probably do a heck of a lot better job than me with what I've got! haha). So I think there is actually choice involved in how we look, and the way that we make ourselves look probably reflects our personalities.

Well, it's because mom was right - if you keep making that face, it'll get stuck that way.
I've noticed it - even very young women who are catty and obnoxious tend to have a perma-sneer on their faces, while stupid people have the constant 'duh' expression, etc. It sets in around age 12; before that you can't tell much from looks.

Excellent question. I really don't know, but anyone who's bullied at school knows it's true, because they know by looking at other kids who to avoid. It's a matter of self-preservation.
