NONE. They say that behind every strong man, there's an even stronger woman. This is definitely the case in France's most infamous and most despised ruler, Marie Antoinette. She was the leading political head in France before and even during the French Revolution. Antoinette was finally arrested for treason, on the grounds of trying to ally with Austria and it's ruler, her brother. She was beheaded on October 16, 1793. By manipulating and threatening her husband, Antoinette made all political decisions. She raised taxes and refused to help her subjects financial suffering. Antoinette spent lavishly on her own personal desires and on enhancing the Palace of Versailles. By ignoring not only the common people of her nation, but also her fellow courtiers, she had many enemies. She was unfaithful, devious and selfish in the eyes of the French citizens at the end of the 18th century. Antoinette led the French into its anger that sparked the Revolution. Marie Antoinette was indefinitely more detrimental to the French Revolution than Louis XVI ever wished he could be.

Marie Antionette was married to the Dauphin to cement the alliance between France and Austria, which had been bitter enemies up to that date. She was very childish in her ways, and upset the French court, which regarded her as an enemy, by her frivolity and extravagance. Her husband was a weak man and did nothing to curb her foolishness. After her children were born, she reformed her life completely, but by that time it was too late. Her reputation and Louis' incompetence led to the French Revolution.

Her ways were terminally unappreciated by the French Court and her public. If she had any aptitude as a good leader then it wasn't apparent. She presumably had some compassion having supposedly remarked that the poor should eat brioche

In my honest opinion she was a very good leader. she married the dauphin, and grew to love him. they killed her because they thought she trashed some jewles that could have helped the people who where dieing of starvation. the jewles were stolen from her. she and her children and husband fled, with the help of her lover. but sadly they found her made her children falsely testify. meaning they told lies about her. which led to the dauphin and herself being killed i forgot about the children.
