It's not a paper! My professor was talking about it during class and I wanted to find out more.

Germany, Austria-Hungary and Russia all lost their monarchies as a result of WWI because of the total defeat of Austria and Germany and the collapse of the tsar's power in Russia.

I don't know who told you it was the end of multinational empires, but they are very short sighted. There were still multinational empires in Africa (Nigeria, for example), the Soviet Union (duh!), and Asia (Japan in China, Manchuria) after WWI.

The war didn't bring peace because it carved up previous nations and empires into new countries that weren't able to handle suddenly being independent. Also The Central(Axis) powers were treated very harshly under the Treaty of Versailles which led to resentment and animosity that caused WWII.

You should write your own paper! Interesting subject though. You should enjoy researching it.
