Is it that everyone wants to be a doctor or is it because we have no lives and we are bored?

Who knows? I think about 50,000 people apply to med school every year, and needless to say, not that many get in! I'm glad the majority of these folks are STILL pre-med because I sure would not want them as a doctor. If you can't find out the pre-med curriculum yourself, should you really be a doctor? Or if you're not willing to look things up on your own (i.e. how long will it take me to become a surgeon?). Disturbing...they really have NO idea how much work it is.

Everyone is a pre-med because no one is good enough to be a doctor.

Because it's a prestigious profession and some Dr. make good money. But most people do not realize how much work it is and there are plenty of other ways to help people.
