A rainbow can mean whatever you want it to mean. But when WE wear it means support and/or pride!!

I myself am not too fond of the rainbow, I would gladly give it back to you if I could. Sadly, my brethren seem to like it. That's true though, if you wear a rainbow people will definitely think you're gay. Sorry :(

Well, I've been reading other people's answers, and now I am confused. While I believe you truly want the rainbow, I didn't get an angry or hateful vibe from you. I thought this was a kind of light hearted fun question. Am I wrong?

You can wear the rainbow and mean anything you want. That's what's great about the rainbow as a symbol of diversity and inclusiveness.
Rainbows have been used throughout history to mean different things. No one group has a "patent" on the rainbow.

However, it sounds like you prefer to exclude LGBT people. You would need a different symbol for that. Let's see, what connotes hatred and bigotry? Perhaps an ostrich with their head in the sand. You can have that.

The rainbow means mercy, compassion, nonviolent or a even a second chance. I think thats why gays use it. A gay guy comes out they get a second chance on life. Maybe when you look at the Rainbow flag maybe you should think compassion like God did after the flood...just a suggestion as a Christian I don't expect you to take it.

You can wear what ever you want. The rainbow is a symbol to gays. It does not mean if str8 people want to wear a rainbow they are gay. Go ahead and wear it. If you can't wear without thinking people think you are gay, then you have your own issues and should check on that.

Let me guess, Emmie, You want the unicorns and leprechauns and kittens too.
Take em
Gays and lesbians are strong people. We don't need symbols to show our strength, Next year we're taking it to the streets and you can stand shivering in the corner wearing all the rainbows and unicorns you want to protect you. We're going to win anyway!

If you like rainbows, wear them. Don't care so much about what other people think.

I dont like it that a rainbow represents gays. It's horrible. There should not be a symbol for who people are. I don't like it when people are labeled.

You can use the rainbow in any way that you see fit. Gays don't have exclusive rights to it, but they will use it to symbolize their diversity. Live with it, and don't get so angry.
