The Flood is about a lot of slaughter.

This website has some of his works that you can read through and find more: http://www.ketzle.com/frost/

Read "Out, Out" about the boy who loses his hand and dies of shock. The terribly blunt reaction of the neighbors -
"And they, since they
Were not the one dead, turned to their affairs."

In "Home Burial," about the loss of a baby, the wife Amy says,
" . . . the nearest friends can go
With anyone to death, comes so far short
They might as well not try to go at all.
No, from the time when one is sick to death,
One is alone, and he dies more alone.
Friends make pretense of following to the grave,
But before one is in it, their minds are turned
And making the best of their way back to life."

A focus on the theme of death. The poems are: "Home Burial," "After Apple- picking," and "Fire and Ice."

Hope that helps!
