I have 5 betta tanks. There are 3 one gallons and 2 two gallons. Is there a really small variety of bottom feeder that I could put in there that would eat the excess food and stuff?

Otocinclus hoppei wuld be a good choice, but most any oto would be good for that matter. They all stay quite small
Otocinclus:

Some cory catfish stay quite small as well, like Corydoras habrosus and are generally a little more hadry that the Otocinclus.

Lots and lots of Cory Cats:

i use ghost shrimp. they work great. sometimes the betta will make them into a snack, but they usually last a few months in my tank. there only like 28 cents a piece too and cool to watch. you cant beat that. id put one in the one gallons and 2 in the 2 gallons.

the otocinclus! they stay less than 2 inches, and would to ok with a betta. they will eat excess food and clean algae off the side.

For catfish it would have to be the Corydoras Hastatus or Corydoras Pygmaeus. Both diminutive and under an inch in size.

ghost shrimp are tiny (less than an inch), cheap (less than a dollar), and i believe they'll eat anything.

i personally keep chinese algae eaters (sucker fish) with my bettas. they're 2-2.5 inches but thin and have a minimal presence (they're quite fast and many like to hide) so they will not be picked on.

otos ( dwarf sucker mouth catfish ) only 1.5" but they wouldn't fit in your tanks
