I am currently researching the concept of older people in prison. I had no problems at first, but now (problem began 1 day ago)every time I try to access certain literature using the term "prison" etc my internet connection shuts down!

It could be several things.
You could be using a term that is not acceptable as a search term for your network. (especially if searching from work/office)
Your ISP has some kind of blocking mechanism.
Your machine is infected with some spyware limiting access to sites.

If you can not use the word "Prison" in your search bar it could be your ISP... call them up and explain to them what is going on.
