me and my roomate @ college are trying to begin a sorority...we need some ideas for fundraising, rushes, rules etc.. any idea helps! if you have any other suggestions about how to run a sorority or anything please do not hesitate to put it on here...

Founding a sorority is not an easy task that two people can do. Getting it to be recognized by your university is like applying for a scholarship with less than outstanding credentials...next to impossible!
Anyway, if you're dead set about it, here's some things you can do:
1. find out the names of some of the sororities in your college; study their mission statements, rules, etc. (should be in the Internet)
2. based on the above, make your own; be sure to incorporate your own ideas and not just copy what is already there; you have to offer something new and different from what is already available
3. see if you can be a chapter of an existing sorority (from another university); this entails less work because you don't have to draw your own by-laws and all that
In other words, do research first --- lots and lots of research. Use the Internet to the fullest. Sororities are organized entities with deep tradition and history (but they all started small and with nothing).

You have to apply for charter of a chapter through the greek organization that's out there.
