I'm 16 years old and I recently noticed that a lot of girls at my school have taken an interest in teasing me. They'll just laugh and talk about me loudly when I'm around, one of them even called me ugly! I've counted and so far there have been about 15 girls who have teased me ( particularly the popular ones). My friend and I were walking down the hall at lunch today and a group of them even followed us to laugh! I don't know what the problem is, I dress normal and act normal (lol, at school at least, haha) and haven't given anyone a reason to dislike me.I mind my own business, keep to myself and am generally nice to everybody. Up until this point, I've been ignoring it, but enough is enough, I'm struggling with depression right now and I don't need this **** on my plate too. How can I put an end to this without causing a huge uproar. I'm placid by nature, and I really don't wanna start a fight, but it seems like that's what they want. Why are they picking on me and what's the best thing to do? I appreciate any answers, thanks.

Look, even though you are placid by nature, sometimes you have to be more assertive. You don't have to take my advice, but, here goes.......Take the biggest book you have and smack her flat in the face with it. Hard! Then say, "Now what, *****?" "You got anymore **** to say to me?" You'll probably get detention for it, and maybe your parents will be upset. But, she/they won't bother you again. I have a teenager and a couple of middle school children. And I always tell them, "Don't you ever let anyone be mean to you." "Fight back!" Sometimes it's the only way. Same thing happened to my teenager. A girl was going around spreading rumors and threatening to beat her up. Finally, my daughter confronted her. Words were exchanged between the two. And the other girl slapped my daughter in the face. My daughter then preceded to beat the living hell out her for that. The other girl was a known bully and my daughter was the new kid at school. The principle wanted my daughter punished. But, we stood up for her and said , "Not today and that just ain't going to happen." Moral of this story is most of these girls are all mouth and don't have anything to back it up. Don't be afraid. Stand up for yourself sweetie.

That's a tough spot to be in at your age. I didn't always do so well in school either. But I bet if you just keep on about your business, they eventually get bored and quit. Looks to me like they just have nothing better to do, so they find someone and pick on them to make themselves feel better.
heh...you could start pointing out the ones that have just the SLIGHTEST love handles or any extra weight and say something like, "Wow...eh...Cindy....looks like you quit the whole anorexia thing....not ....eh....not really workin' for you I see. Hey, there's always bolemia". That should give that girl a complex for life that'll she'll prolly never recover from. That's the most heinous payback I can think of.
I know these all sound really mean spirited, but I thought it might give you a laugh to make you feel a bit better.
Listen, dont' sweat it, you got 2 more years and I promise, it's different in the work place. Yeah, there's still clicks and whatnot, but they're not nearly as immature and I'm sure you'll be fine once you get out of H.S. School sucks for these reasons.
Keep your chin up!

That sucks. But I have to say you are handeling it very well
I think you should continue to ignore them. The moment you give into there childish behavior then they will know they got
the best of you. You sound like you got a good head on your
shoulders from what you wrote so be smart and just keep ignoring them. I think right now you may not know it but you have the upper hand..... Don't loose your cool just have fun with your own crowd. When those snot nose girls get home they are probably depressed themselves so put your energy into yourself and move on.

Some adolescent girls can be the meanest creatures on earth, and you have the bad luck to be the target of a gaggle of them. I agree, report to the principal, or your guidance counselor or a teacher you trust. This is a form of bullying, and there's been a lot of press about how much of a problem bullying is, and how some schools have even been sued over it.

me, I'm not very placid and i can have a temper, and i can fight, so i would whoop dey asses
but for you.... if you can't fight don't start one,
don't try to fight them all at the same time. maybe get one while she's away from the group and confront her, be aggressive and don't show any fear. If you teach one a lesson, the other should follow...unless they all jump you later
hope you find your answer

I would say that they are jealous of you. When you get popular girls like that they dont know the meaning of friend, they use each other. They probably want you to become part of there crowd. If it continues go to the principal. Tell him that your depressed and that they are not helping the situation. You can also prey to God and ask for his guidance in this or any situation. Best of luck to you. You sound like a great person.
Always smile that will make them mad.

Any individual that approaches you, bothers you, and sees that you don't answer will keep doing it because he sees that he can keep doing it and that the person doesn't answer like he/she should. If you aren't a real man still to react violently and with aggresion like you should I suggest you to start thinking if you really are normal or not, and correcting what's wrong and can be corrected. I warn you, I'm not reffering to beating them. It's more reacting like you should aggraviating them, and putting them in their place. A person that doesn't do what he must doesn't deserve consideration. You'll understand what I'm saying and later in your life, you'll be the verbal aggresor.

You sound like a good kid. Don't worry about them, girls and even Women can be mean. Really just keep ignoring them they are not worth your time. You worry about you. Keep a good head on your shoulders. and you can't please everyone and that is not a bad thing. Try to let it roll off you back. Don't stoup to their level it will only make it worse and you are better then them. Good luck and keep being yourself.

Turn around and get like real mad at them. Tell them "Hey look. You guys have no reason to make fun of me so just leave me alone. I'm sick of it okay?" or something. The just walk away. As long as you get geniunely mad, they'll get sacred or feel guilty and will leave you. I'm sorry this is happening to you. Best of luck!

Teenaged girls can be very nasty, especially when there are packs of them. You could suddenly walk toward them and say, "what's your problem?" That might make them realize that youi won't just take their rude behavior. If it continues, talk to your counselor. See if you can pick out the ring leader and report her.
