Absolutely - regardless of age, all human beings need respect, and have something to teach someone else. Even the silly ones have something to offer, under the silliness. When I was a teenager, I got so tired of being treated like an idiot by adults. I wouldn't perpetuate that cycle.

I know some that seem to have their heads secured, and some that are still wandering, it's all ok with me.

After all many of them are way smarter than me!
It is our young people whom (one day) will be making the global decisions that affect us all.
And they are going to be looking after me in old age!
