At babies-R-Us I found this incredible bottle warmer! It is a cloth sleeve with a hot pack in the middle. To prepare the hot pack before leaving home, you simply boil it in a pot of water until the filling becomes clear. Then when you are out and about and need to warm a bottle, you wrap the hot pack and cloth sleeve around the baby's bottle and press an activation button on the hot pack. It then starts to heat up and gets quite warm! In a minute or two you have a nice warm bottle!

I LOVED this bottle warmer when I would be out to dinner and my son needed a bottle! The best part about it is the hot pack is reusable!!

However, once he was about three months old...I got over the whole "breast feeding in public" thing and just starting nursing him wherever I was...it's a lot easier!!

The easierst way to do ti (this is what my mother always did as well) is jsut to run it under REALLY hot water, or put it into a a pitcher/sink full of really hot water and let it sit there for a bit (be sure to shake it up well)

Your own milk isn't really HOT, just warm and hot water isn't hot enough to make it burning or cause any damage to the bottle.

Whatever you do though jsut don't microwave it, it breaks down the proteins and kills off a lot of the vitamins.

Milk should not be heated in a microwave. This ruins the proteins in the breastmilk.

The best thing to do is to put the bottle in a hot water bath. You can put it under or in warm water. If you are outdoors, take along a thermos with hot water to put the bottle in, or invest in a bottle warmer that takes batteries.

Breastmilk should not be heated in a microwave. The microwave kills all the nutrients in breastmilk AND heating any liquid (breastmilk, formula, water, etc.) in the microwave can create hotspots in the liquid. What you "test" on your wrist may be cool enough, but it may be hotter in other parts of the liquid. I warm up my babies bottles under warm running water. Restaraunts, grocery stores, everywhere has bathrooms with faucets to use. If I'm outdoors and nothing is around, I don't warm it up. If your baby is hungry enough, he/she will take and you'll be ok. Also, I do believe they make portable warmers or you could warm it before and place in insulated cooler.

Good Luck!

You do not need to reheat milk that is room temperature. Breast milk will keep for a few hours at room temperature, approximately 5 hours or so. Medela says it will keep for 4 hours at room temperature.

If you've refrigerated your milk, leaving it out for two or three hours until your baby is hungry usually takes the chill off of the milk and it's close to room temperature

If you live in a colder climate and need to warm up your milk, place the bottle of milk in a bowl of warm water for 10-20 minutes to bring it to room temperature. Swirl the milk around in the bottle to reintegrate the cream layer, if necessary

Never microwave breast milk because it creates hot spots that could burn your baby and also destroys enzymes in your milk.

Good luck.

You store the pumped milk in the refrigerator or freezer...to reheat, dont microwave, just place the bottle in a cup or bowl of very hot water to warm up.....if you are outside...you cant warm up a bottle...thats why its more convenient to breastfeed....if you are outside, you dont need to use a bottle!

I bought this cool bottle warmer for the car. I bought it from Wal-mart, but you can get one @ any baby store. (You plug it into the cig lighter and it wraps around the bottle and warms up.) FYI:NEVER put breast milk in the microwave. It will break it down and distroy the living cells that are good for baby.

I run it under the hot tap to take the chill off it if there is a tap available. If not i just give it to my baby cold. If you get them used to it from the start they are more likely to take it without heating.
