The Renault Trafic, Vauxhall Vivaro, Opel Vivaro and Nissan Primastar are all effectively the same vehicle.
It is a joint-venture programme between Renault-Nissan and GM Europe, with Renault being responsible for the design and engineering, and GM (and later Nissan in Spain) responsible for manufacture. It is assembled by GM in Luton and by Nissan in Spain.
Joint ventures like this occur when each manufacturer's proposed volume for the new vehicle is not enough to make the investment financially viable, but the combined volume of two or more manufacturers does make it viable. It is common in the automotive industry, and particularly common in the European light-commercial sector. There are usually minor styling differences between the versions marketed by the different brands.
Other examples are:
Renault Master, Opel/Vauxhall Movano and Nissan Interstar
Fiat Scudo, Peugeot Expert and Citroën Jumpy/Dispatch
Fiat Ducato, Peugeot Boxer and Citroën Jumper/Relay
Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and Volkswagen Crafter
In terms of the customer choosing which one to purchase, factors to consider include:
Brand Image
Resale value
Differing equipment levels, option packs and incentives
Local dealer facilities
Existing fleet arrangements with one particular brand.

Essentially there is virtually no difference in the basic van. Nissan do a version too.
They are Renault by design but I believe that they are assembled in Luton by Vauxhall.
The only difference is internally with trim on the seats and dash board configuration mainly the stereo.
I own 5 Vivaros for my business and so far have proved very reliable.
I only bought Vauxhall because I got a better deal on the finance as Vauxhall offer the Sportive model which is the top basic spec.(e/w a/c cd e/w/m and front fog lamps).
Vauxhall do a pre registered deal on these vans which saves about £4000 off list.
I shall be buying 2 more soon.
However a friend of mine has the Nissan version and swears that it is a better van..each to their own!

aside from having different names from diff countries, i can tell u they for a fact they dont manufacture at the same factory. they may get put together at the ame factory but the parts are made at diff ones. my husband works in a factory and makes car seats for various companies. the designers give each factory (depending on what part they are making) specs for their certain car part and then that particular factory will make it. the designs are probs the same as what ever field you work in every one is competing with each other and steel design ideas from each other ( i myself work in the fashion idustry and see plenty of this) its the same for fashion, magazines game consoles etc. so in answer to ur question they probably arnt different just have diff names but will not all be made in the same factory
