I can not go to sleep at night time. I wake up every morning at 6:40. I am exhausted and grumpy, but at night time I feel like I am not tired at all and I can't even force my self to get in bed before 11:45, I feel like I should be doing something. I think seeing a doctor would be taking it to an extreme.

Try relaxing more before going to bed. Watching TV isn't good because it stimulates your brain. Try reading a book.. meditating always works for me because it relieves stress. When I am desperate, I massage the bone under my eyes which makes me sleepy.

You might want to try taking Benadryl or Ambien once or twice to get yourself on a sleep pattern. Try to completely clear your mind of any thoughts because I notice that right before I fall asleep, my mind is empty.

Hope I've helped!

What I do is meditate in bed when I can't sleep. Usually people say not to mediate while lying in bed because it'll make you sleepy. So I either imagine myself somewhere else, with my friends, and doing whatever I please. It's a good time to get creative. Other times I concentrate on relaxing my whole body, one body part at a time, while I take big deep breaths. I also try not to think of anything else, because when I can't sleep, it is usually because I can't get my mind to shut up. So... try meditation techniques in bed, it makes the mind relaxed and sleepy.

seeing a doctor is never an extreme. try sleepytime tea. or if you are old enough, a partner in bed, some vigorous activity and boom, its lights out.
