mythologies are stories people tell to their kids about forces of nature and how they interact with each other. every culture's myths are similar to one another since they influence each other.

in the sumerian culture, they were farmers so their myths were mostly about nature. their stories teach the younger generations how to become good farmers. they also have a story about venus, the star/planet. their name for her was Inanna. her story tells u about her journey to the underworld, and being reborn three days after. if u study the planet venus, u would learn that 3 days of venus's cycle, it is not visible. also, Inanna is the goddess of love and war. for about 6 months, venus is a morning star, fighting with the sun so she can shine brighter. for the other half of the year, venus is a night star. she "goes to bed" with a different lover (constellation) every night.

for the egyptians, their gods are a little different since their environment is different from that of mesopotamia. since egypt is dry, they have a god, Set, to symbolize the desert. they also had Osirus, the black fertile soil. Set and Osirus were brothers. Set was jealous of Osirus because he was getting all the praise and worship while Set is out in the desert. so Set decides to kill his brother, and dump his body in the nile river. this story makes sense. the desert takes over the fertile land from time to time because of wind storms. the egyptians personified the forces of nature so the future generations can better understand their surroundings.

this also goes for greek and roman myths. i know that many people think their are homosexual characters, but u have to see that many characters from mythologies are personifications of nature. so it's just one force work or interacting with another.

Mythology is a way of explaining why things were the way they were before everyone got wrapped up in science. For example the ancient Greeks explained:
Thunder and lightning storms as things that were caused when Zeus was angry or in battle the lightning bolts were his weapons that he threw down to earth....now science explains that.
The change in seasons is attributed to a legend of long ago in which Hades lord of the underworld stole Persephone daughter of Demeter, the goddess of the harvest if i remember right. Hades tricked her into eating food of the underworld which forced her to stay. When Hades saw how distraught Persephone was he told her that she could go back up top for part of the year but since she ate of the underworld once a year she had to stay there. During her daughter's absence, Demeter would not allow anything to grow and it was the same year after year after year......thus explaining seasons....

I must provide facts, details and evidence? LOL. I don't have to do anything; sounds like you do, though. Go finish your homework.

i believe that dragons were one of dinosaurs, i've watched one movie from animal planet about the discovery of dinosaur fossil in rumania which really looks like a dragon fossil (they even found that dinosaur can really breath the fire!). biologist Dr Peter j Hogarth claims that this dinosaur survived from the extinction and reached china, norways, and i dunno where else. and as the darwin's theory says...they were evoluting to adapting the situation in their new habitat, ( i guess thats why china's dragons cant fly and there was a rumour about sea serpent). they said that dragons extinct at 15th century.

Your question negates itself. Asking someone what they believe and then requiring them to back up WHY they hold a certain belief is contradictary.
