My name is very easy to say, but I have been told by many a person in business that if you mispronounce the person(s) name while you talk directly to them in a business setting, you place them on the defensive and you usually get a non-business answer to your question(s). That way you get the upper hand in a conversation, by saying to them you're replying to me with an emotional answer not a business answer. This is done usually in front of bosses or suits.
It is an easy way to mess with some peoples head.

It used to bother me a lot but I've gotten so used it now. I'm called something different everytime. I just go with the flow now. My name is especially hard for Asian people to pronounce (people who have english as a second language) so they get close to pronouncing my name right, I'm fine with that.

My last name is pronounced Juh-wrek-key
It's spelled Jarecki
I wouldn't figure it would be that hard....
So it gets mispronounced every day of my life because people didn't use "hooked on phonics"
But no, I don't get upset, I'm used to it.

nope, not at all, after 7 years of hearing it mispronounced every single day, it's not a big deal at all.

No one ever gets it right the first time, and that goes for both my first and last names. I'm used to it, and don't have any expectations. My names are not difficult, though, so it is a little baffling.

My name is Marie but people call me Maria so often that I usually just go with it. Unless they know me well, know what my name really is. and do it anyway, (Like this guy at work) then I'm kind of a ***** about it.

Just a bit, because to me that sometimes seems like being rude. But if you can't say it right dont say it at all, not truly what I think, but in some cases yes.

no it's pathetic to be bothered by something as trivial as this. i come from a large family and get called about ten different names daily so i'm usually just happy for someone to remember my name :)
