Because more people are qualified to answer them than serious questions that require knowledge, sympathy or intelligible language.

That said, questions about paedos or the death penalty (or for a real classic, both) get LOADS of answers.

Most are on here for personal amusement so they answer the really silly questions because it's easy to do so. The harder questions get fewer answers because most only want to have fun.

Frequently a lot of people don't want the truth, they just want you to agree with them no matter how hateful, bigoted or stupid they are. Fools are ok but when they think they're a genius, it's a problem.

It's probably the thing that grinds most of us down on Answers. You give a decent answer that you know to be the truth and some dill weed comes along and thumbs downs you.

Some of those real simple questions are pretty good and asking the whole world: "how was your day?" isn't a bad thing.

It can be surprising that some fairly straight forward questions about fairly specific stuff get very few answers. You'd expect a lot more for some questions.

With some good questions, I won't answer if somebody has got the answer right. I just thumbs up the correct answer.

Some questions just provoke mischief in me:

see what I mean, I can't help myself sometimes.

Its the shortest questions and all. I think people read the heading and respond, rather than the rest of the dialogue.

I mean you see paragraphs and paragraphs of text and you think NEXT!

I mean some people go on and on.

They waffle and fluff about nothing in particular. Its all just rambling nonsense. Exercise for the fingers typing the thing. Or a contributing factor to white finger. Thats the typing with one hand, while watching the telly, eating a hastily buttered ham sandwich which do'es it.

Go on and on, and on..

And on..

Bet you clicked off this ages ago! ha : )

I had a good day, getting out of bed at 7.30am instead of 11am,. Went to the doctors, then the dentist, follow by a visit to a coffee shop for a cuppa. Then went home, cleaned the house, went to my art group.

After art, with my husband I went to an office to collect a key to open the meeting place where my daughter helps with Brownies, my husband stopped the car, I got out, my foot was caught in the strap of my handbag, just about to stop myself from falling, didn't quite manage it, so down onto the floor I went, legs in air, had a skirt on, so flashed my undies, didn't know whether to laugh or cry, looked at the windows of the office block, just to make sure no one was looking out, got up, collected the key, then went to the car, dying with embarrassment.

Have a few scratches on my leg, my husband was tickled pink with laughter, so were my children when told the story.

Because the silliest questions take the least amount of time to answer.

I have had a hard day taking kids to school, planting lots of potatoes and onions (allotment), then walking to school to pick up kids (i dont drive) then walking to take to football then walking to pick up from football, then walking home from football, then cooking dinner, then taking dog out then having to think of sensible answers to odd questions. Thats my day! when written down it looks really boring actually, perhaps i should have left this question to others so they couldnt see what a sad life i lead. oh well hey ho

we all like to live in a wonderful land every once in a while, and it is easier to be silly and sarcastic when the question is silly, and besides you can choose to answer by a random answer like just saying "cheese" to all the answers.
