My lower back used to spasm out really badly and I always felt a lump there, about the size of a full grown grape. I went to a walk in clinic for it and they had no idea what it was, so my physio therapist checked it out and told me he felt it was a lump of fat that was putting pressure on my muscles.

I had to do some intense physio and it imporved, but now my back is acting up again and the lump is still there! Anyone have suggestions on how to get rid of it or why its there?

(or the scientifical name is there is one)

well, I had the same thing about two months ago. It hurt so bad I couldn't even sit or walk properly. It turned out to be a pilonidal cyst http://www.pilonidal.org/whatitis.htm
I had to have it surgically removed. I am not saying you have the same problem I had ....I am just saying maybe. I think you should see a good doctor.

Where is the lump exactly?
