Is it bad to take classes over the summer? I'm planning to take U.S history over the summer so i can focus on my other classes but i heard colleges don't like that. Is it better to take the course at my school?

Unless you're going into a profession or Major which requires or uses History, it shouldn't matter.
You need the credit and a good mark.

If you don't really need it, but it's required; take it over the summer and concentrate on the subjects which will be more useful in your future.

If you're going into something Hostory/Social Studies related, take it over the school year; you'll probably learn more that way.

I did not think it mattered because it makes you graduate earlier ... I am at a CC and i am planing on taking summer classes so I can complete 60 credits earlier. besides college summer school is not like high school summer school. you don't take summer classes just because you failed them. I would say colleges would like it that a student likes studying so much that he studied even in SUMMER... (as long as you don't have any "F's"

If it's a pre-requisite course, it's probably not a big deal. I did that with economics and physics because those were harder subjects for me and I wanted to do it fast and be able to focus on them.

Well... it is depend on your motivation. I have been taking summer at community and university for two years. I want to graduate earlier, so that is what make me so motive to do it.
