My boyfriend and i have been together for over a year and we're very serious about the realtionship. We both love each other but we're from different countries. He is Jamaican and I'm Bahamian and he was living with his mother in the Bahamas since he was three illegally. His mother recently moved back to Jamaica along with his little brother and sister. Its not easy for him to live here illegally. He cant get a drivers license or bank account or anything like that and he's tired of it. And i feel horrible because he just told me that the obnly reason he didn't move with his mother is because he thought he found the love of his life! I however have another year of high school left and i want to go to college and then marry him and get citizenship in Jamaica. But i might miss my family or (God forbid) our marriage may not work out! What should I do?

We have the same situation,dear. I moved here in US all the way in Hongkong ( But I am from the Philippines,workin in HK for 5 yrs ).
If you really love your bf and u really love him that much,you follow ur heart. I know how tough is the decission your gonna make. Just be more positive when it comes on that matter. Also make sure he's feeling for u.
I came here to be with my fiance bcz I love him and we both have faith in our love. And all i can say is that I am happy being here with him. Ofcourse there are times taht I am missing my family,but when that things is happening to me, He's making sure that he is beside me making sure that I know that he is here for me and will always be,. He will make me feel better. Even just simply hugging me tight,showering me with his kisses and love.....
I am happy here with him,dear. Who knows maybe u would too. Just have faith trust and beleive in ur love and with each other....I am sure that everything will all work out right.

You are still in HIGH SCHOOL?!?!?!?!? I can pretty much GUARANTEE you that your marriage won't work out if you are still in HIGH SCHOOL! I have been to Jamaica. I would not go back. I was there in May a year ago. From the first of January to the middle of May there were 794 MURDERS on the island. The economy is based on drugs. Violence is rampant. Anybody that voluntarily goes to Jamaica to live HAS to be out of their MIND!

Finish school and go to college. You are too young to follow him to Jamaica and you may regret your decision if you go.You will miss your family and resent the things that you had to give up to go there. Let some time pass and see if your relationship is strong enough to withstand a separation if he decides to go back to Jamaica.

I suggest for you to finish high school, then get your college. Then talk about serious relationship. Let him go back home and get his life together. While you two may be serious about being together you don't have enough money to make it happen. With education you are able to do anything.

Oh my! You are asking on a forum to help choose the destiny of your life! Sweetheart..this is a serious matter. Finish school no matter what. Try talking him into staying longer and maybe you could help him out a little with the rough spots.

I would focus on finishing school first ... then worry what might happen ... if that means holding off on the relationship for awhile then so be it ... love can wait ... !
