sleepless nights, days of thought
hurt feelings from wounded heart
thought you knew more than you did
while everyone says "cool it kid"
The time just flies, but who's having fun
Days come, then fade away
You fight for your dignity
but half-hearted, it never stays
Close fisted, and grinding teeth
no one understands you anymore
colliding into yourself

Unreal
yet it clamors in my head
sensations pulsing,,oh to feel
the quiet solitude of bed
My sanity
it craves
mine and all humanity
but we are all its knaves
We kneel
in sublicant behavior
we know not what is real
we only want its favor
We cry
for we are lost
afraid to live for we will die
the world gone awry
Noise assaults
Our senses overload
Humanity ..Our faults?
or is that your goad
think, think hard
rise above the static in our brains
within us there must live a bard
that will measure all our gains
in poetry and verse
words that play upon our tongues
we are not cursed
Breathe these lifting notes into our lungs
Serenity and peace
the music rises from within
giving sweet release
and quieting that awful din
Oh so sweet
listen to the sounds
that daily lives will greet
and witness joy abound.

A POEM FOR MATH CLASS
(Also excellent when sung to the tune of "American Pie") part is borrowed, part is original
Why, why must I always find pi?
Gotta fidget with the digits
Til this hour has gone by.
If I don't find it, then I guess I'll just die!
Oh, why must I always find pi?
Where in the world is my pi?
