Around October of 2006, my mom bought me an mp3 player from Circuit City.
Recently, I have been having problems with it.

Can I still get it repaired without the receipt?
- I know I am still covered by the warranty (12 monthes)
- My mom paid with a credit card

If your mom just bought the MP3 player and did not purchase the extend service on it then you will have to contact the company who made the product....circuit city does not handle warranties in the store....if you purchased the circuit city advantage plan for it then you will have to call the service number....if you don't have the number call your local circuit city and they will give it to you or go to www.circuitcity.com/protectionplan

Is the warranty an extended warranty you purchased through Circuit City or is it the standard manufacturer warranty that came with your MP3 player?

If it is the former (Circuit City extended warranty) you can contact Circuit City directly, they actually should have your warranty information in their computer. You should have received a copy of the warranty contract (or was that with the lost receipt? :) Go to the below Circuit City link to contact them for service though you have no receipt/warranty #.

Or if the link does not work you can email at rpphelp@circuitcity.com or our toll-free telephone number (800) 871-2761. Have your mother on standby as they may need to confirm her name (as the credit card is under her name).

If it is the latter (standard manufacturer warranty) then you actually need to contact the vendor of your product. So if you have the Microsoft Zune, you would look in your service manual for a phone number to contact for support including repairs and replacements.

Good luck!

Circuit city doesn't do repairs. If you didn't purchase a warranty through circuit city, they will just forward your return authorization to the manufacturer for a replacement. If you did purchase a warranty from Circuit City, then they will give you a new one on the spot.

Yes. They will have a record of the purchase and warranty by the serial number or your mother's name and phone number. Take it to them and they will be able to look it up.
