One of my classmates wants to buy one and bring it to school at break. He said something about possessing the school. What does it do and why is everyone in my class afraid and trying to stop him from bringing it?

It is this gameboard and it has the alphabet on it, and it also comes with this plastic disc like thing with a clear window. Supposedly, you ask the Ouija board a question, and spirits or something else moves the plastic disk over the letters and spells out the answer. I am not sure if they make them anymore, but you used to be able to buy them at places like Target. My mom bought my sister and I one when we were kids and we both thought it was the dumbest thing ever. Much to our dismay, the plastic disk never moved (surprise!) and we would sit there for a really long time waiting for something to happen. There is nothing to be afraid of, it is not any more scarier than Monopoly or Candyland.

haha. if you don't know what it is, how do you know how to spell it? hmmm. well it is a game that is has a board and a marker with that sits on the board. The marker is triangular shaped and big enough for a few people to put their fingers on it. It has a hole in the middle like a magnifying glass so you can see the board underneath. The board has the whole alphabet on it and a few words like yes and no. All the players put their hands on the marker and someone asks a question. the "spirits" are supposed to move the marker to the answer. Yes or no or spell it out. Everytime someone else is moving it. And everyone says, "AMAGAD!!"

The Ouija board is more about what you believe will happen than what it can actually do or not do. I wouldn't worry about your friend possessing the school. If he does, that will be a first. People are frightened of that they don't understand. Others have either had or heard of people who think they have had bad experiences they associate with a Ouija board. Most of those experiences are based on their own beliefs and expectations.

It's a board with letters on it. You ask it questions, and it allegedly answers it by having "spirits" spell it out, and you see the letters with a triangular piece of white plastic with like a clear plastic circle in the middle of it. The prediction it made for me was that I was going to have twins, and that hasn't happened... yet.

It's a doorway between the spirit world and ours, with the ability to predict the future and talk to dead people...made out of plastic, distributed by Proctor and Gamble and sold at Safeway.

It is a board with letters on it that is used to contact spirits. It can be very dangerous though, seeing how you can open a door for spirits to enter into our world, and sometimes these spirits aren't to nice.
