About 8% of all men and 0.5% of all women are colorblind. The numbers vary around the globe. For example there is a population on an island which has a very high rate of color blindness, because it originated in some colorblind men. In other populations color blindness can be very rare (below 1%).

I don't know exactly, but I do know it's more common in males.
