Dawn of War and all of its expansions. The games squad system lets you control 100 of soilders simaltaneously, you can have lots more, thats just how many you can control at once. Then there's the tanks (awesome).
Another game that I like is Warcraft III, not as exciting as DOW, but still very fun.

If you want strategy try the new Command and Conquer 3 (Tiberium Wars)
or you could always play Civilization 4. It's.... *sorta* like AoE 3.
