I thought that longitude is across and lattitude is up and down is that right??? HELP BIG PROJECT! DONT LET ME MESS UP!!!!!

On a globe, or a map with North at the top:
Lines of longitude run up and down. (On a globe you can see them meeting at the North & South Poles)
Lines of latitude run across.

Latitude = horizontal ( East to West )
Longitude = vertical ( North to South )
Grid = Latitude & Longitude meet.
Equator = 0 degrees Latitude
Prime Meridian = 0 degrees Longitude

Lat is across and long is up and down.
Latitude lines run east to west and divide the planet north to south.
The Equator is zero degrees lat.
90 degrees latitude is the north or south pole.
Lines of longitude run north to south and divide the planet west to east.
Zero degrees long. is the Prime Meridian.
180 degrees long is the International Date Line.
Think of an orange - the sections are similar to longitude.
If the orange were sliced, that would be like latitude.

You were right, and I know this was written a long time ago but a trick to remember them is: LATitude is FATitude and if you're fat you grow wider (left to right)
