About 3 years after I had gotten my tongue pierced I decided that I wanted to take it out... the hole closed within the day to be honest. Within the week it was completely healed. To this day I still have a small bump on my tongue where the hole was. The bump is so small though that I don't really regret ever getting it done. The only people that notice the bump are my parents, who still like to gripe about how I could ever have gotten it done lol. Hope this helps =)

They're supposed to be the fastest to heal... but I also heard that right after you get it done, the tongue swells up and makes it difficult to speak. Not sure if that's true or not...
Yeah, I think the hole's going to heal pretty quickly if you take it out... but some piercings leave scar tissue behind if you take them out, I don't know if that goes for tongue piercings too... I'll be watching the other replies...

My daughter had it done a year ago and her tongue swelled up very badly and after a while she removed the stud, it healed over within a few days with no signs at all that it had even been pierced.

I've heard that your tongue heals so quickly that it would take less than a day for the hole to close up if you took the stud out. I don't know if it's true.
