While I believe unions were a good thing when they were first instituted, they have outlived their usefulness and have now become a nuisance on the working man.

Examples:

- Often, ,union membership is required to work and the fees/dues are ridiculously high. For example, a grocery store in Maryland called Soelbergs. I applied and they told me union membership was required, the fees were $120/month and they only paid $6/hour. I decided to work elsewhere.

- Many union workers know that they don't have to worry about getting fired, so they are not motivated to do quality work.

- Unions are more worried about lobbying in congress and lining their own pockets then watching out for the little guy.

- The union in Utah for the road workers made a big deal about how they were finished ahead of schedule on the interstate project and how everyone should vote for them and donate money to them. What they failed to mention was the 6 extentions they made on their original deadline, the many "beautification projects" that were to take place after they were 'finished' that involved road closures.
