I'm due in 2 days now with my first, and i've just lost what seems to be my mucus plug.

I was told by a couple of people awhile ago that if its not tinged with blood, you haven't lost it all - and it doesn't mean anything to do with labor being soon.

It was just a clear to yellowy ...mucus really.

Has anyone lost their mucus plug(and have it clear), and gone into labor in the next 24 hours - few days?

I lost my mucus plug a little over a week before I was induced. I never went into labor. I had to be induced. The mucus plug can regenerate itself. It's not really an indicator of labor, it just means that things are working like they are supposed to. Mine was blood tinged, but I still never went into labor on my own. You could just be having alot of discharge. Your mucus plug looks alot like snot. (not to be gross) It's a little bit thicker than just a regular discharge. Also, it's usually not clear because it has been sitting there inside of you for a while "capping things off".

The mucus plug is litteraly what it's called a thick plug of mucus that act's like a plug in the opening to the cervix (mouth of the uterous)..as you get closer to D Day..the cervix becomes increasingly softer..making it easier for it to dialate to pass the baby through...When the "plug" drops out..It means that
your body is getting very ready to pass a baby out..
It will usually have some shreds of dark brown streaks in it rather than bright red blood...It doesn't mean you will deliver on that day...You may not start labor for a few more days...but obviously since you're in the final days..it's going to happen very soon...(if it hasn't already by the time you read this), lol
It's very normal...and it's also normal for some women not to have a noticable one either...Every woman and every pregancy is slightly different...
God Bless you and your little baby about to come into the world...You'll get through it so don't be scared...

Yes, go to the doctor so they can check for sure. i lost my mucus plug, then my water soon after but didn't have contractions for another 8 hrs. As soon as you loose it the baby is suseptable to infections. Go right away!!
