Drop tune to D#. It sounds a little better than D or D flat.

Most Green Day albums are tuned in Drop D (eg-F#)Others are in Standard. Go below for more instructions.
If you still dont know how to tune it to Drop D, you can play 1 Fret Below(up) It will sound more Drop D ish.
