We're driving up there in May through Oregon and Washington. Is it possible that we could bring our dog there?

You most certainly can! I take my dogs and cat across the border all the time, over a hundred times in the past five years.

You will need to have certificate of current rabies vaccination with you, just the tag on dogs collar is NOT sufficient, as they need the additional information that is on the certificate. Most of the time they don't ask for it, but it is important to have it with you! If your dog is on any medications, have that information with you as well.

Make sure you have a leash for your dog, in case you are asked to come out of your vehicle for inspection (they do random inspections at the border, chances are you won't be subject to one, but best to be prepared with a leash in case).

One other note ... pet foods from the U.S. are allowed into Canada with no problem, but you won't be able to bring pet food, rawhide toys, etc. purchased in Canada back into the U.S.

Yes you may, just have Vet. papers stating what shots he has had. I assume he is a family dog and not a fighter. Keep him in plain view when crossing don't try to hide him. If you are questioned show his papers.
