The Sun Sign is what most people know without a doubt. It is also (usually) the most obvious part of the personality. The Sun is the conscious self. It is the behavior one is most comfortable with. It is the every day, fair-weather self. But there is much more to you than your Sun Sign...

. when emotions run high....

That's when the Moon Sign comes out. We generally react in emotional situations according to the Moon Sign. This is the primal, subconscious self. You may even fantasize about behaving more like that sign, but it may not feel natural to you unless you're filled with happiness or sadness or anger. The Moon Sign also comes out when you feel very safe - either by yourself or with people you trust.

But what about...

The Rising Sign?

This is the most difficult element of the chart to explain, but may be even more important than the Sun Sign. In a nutshell, it is the Higher Self. You came into this life with one of the 12 signs of the zodiac on the horizon. This sign represents your horizon - your aspirations, what you look for in the world, and what you want to reflect. It is not surprising that much of your outward appearance, or the way you present yourself to others is determined by the Rising Sign, (and also by any planets that were rising when you were born - the Sun, Moon and planets rule the Zodiac - so a person with Venus rising is much like a Libra or Taurus rising, and Moon rising is just like Cancer rising, etc.) We want to attract and bring into our lives that which we aspire to. A Libra rising person looks for beauty, equality and comfort - and his/her natural beauty and charm are helpful in bringing it. An Aries rising individual looks for excitement and new challenges. Her/his look of bold determination and fearlessness is conducive to finding it!

Why is the Rising Sign so important? Once you discover why you have the particular Rising Sign you do, you will be on the road to realizing and sharing one of your most powerful gifts. It represents an important aspect of what you were born to work on perfecting in this life

SUN IN PISCES
With the Sun in the mutable and watery sign of Pisces, you have a basic attunement to the emotional and feeling level of experience. Your basic nature is rather unworldly and idealistic, with an innate urge to trust everyone. On the positive side this makes you sympathetic, compassionate and sensitive to the needs of others, but you are very impressionable to outside influences and may be easily led. Like the sea however, your emotional nature is full of hidden depths, sudden storms, and strong and shifting emotional currents that can sometimes overwhelm you and those around you. There is a tendency to vagueness, moodiness and periods of self-doubt and self-pity. You have a strong disposition toward escapism and a refusal to face reality. "Feeling good" may be more important to you than dealing with the practical necessities of life. On the positive side, this can be expressed through meditation, a strong imagination and an appreciation of the subtle messages conveyed through music and other art forms. On the negative side this can lead to an excessive dependence on drugs (including alcohol) or fruitless daydreaming and an inability to conform with any kind of routine or self-discipline.

MOON IN ARIES
With the Moon in the cardinal fire sign of Aries, you react instinctively to emotional stimuli through direct action. You have a tendency to leap before you look. You can be naturally courageous with the inner urge to get things done, or you can be impulsive and quick tempered, with a tendency to put your own feelings before those of others. You have an enthusiasm for life, and a naturally direct approach, but you need to consciously develop patience. Other chart factors may show you to be patient and understanding, but if you are caught unexpectedly, or your feelings are hurt, you can surprise yourself and others with the strength of your anger and repressed selfishness.

TAURUS RISING
The fixed earth sign of Taurus rising at the time of your birth indicates that you project an image of stability and reliability. Others may perceive you as a laid back or even reserved person, although this may not be the case when they get to know you. You need to base your life on a secure material basis before you can feel easy enough to pursue other goals, but you need to realize that material security is an illusion that can easily disappear; don’t spend your whole life chasing an illusion, and learn to let go when necessary. You are patient and persevering, you need to be pushed pretty hard before you lose your cool, but when you do the object of your anger should just get out of the way, your rage may be just as slow to cool.

Taurus is ruled by the planet Venus, the house position and aspects to this planet will be of particular importance in your chart.

Ascendent

Both are important. Basically, sun signs deal with you as a defined person and ascendants are about your physical looks and personality. Moon signs are about the thoughts and feelings.

probably ascendant because the reason why people say their horoscope isn't true is because astrologist can't make 1000million signs for each person who are born on may 4 tuesday 11:23am. so they just do they average perdiction. but if you combine both your sign and ascendant then it gives you more info about your personality.

From what I've heard many astrologers say, it's neither. Supposedly, it's actually the moon sign that's the most related to the individual person.

Each of those two elements it is important!

The so-called Ascendant, which marks the beginning of the First
House, is related to your "personality".
The Sun's position, in Constellation and in House, can offer data
about your "spirit" and how is "expressing" himself.

Your overall psychological attributes and the general course of
your life are determined by the sign of your Ascendant and the
mundane position of its ruler.

The ascending sign in a chart is utilized primordially - in the
astrological work - as a third and very important factor which
complements the psychological information given by the combined
positions of both the Sun and the Moon. Figuratively speaking, it
is the geometrical base that encloses the human triangle, where
its sides are represented by the individuality and the personality.

If you would like to find out much more about yourself, my advice
is to contact a professional astrologer. You can find a competent
one, at the American Federation Of Astrologers.

I'm glad that you are preoccupied with this kind of problems. But
be aware: the Astrology is the Science of the "Queens"; and the
Queen of the (ezoteric) Sciences. You must be "prenatally endowed",
in order to be able to understand it and to master it. You will need
many years of experience and individual study, before beeing able
to make valid Horoscopes (and predictions). And, above all, you
must live a "healthy life"--which exludes the immorality, the vices,
the depravation, the excesses; and in general, everything which
is against the Law.
Then and ONLY then you will receive the "Enlightenment"...

i think it has a lot to do with the combination of all 3
If you were to think of your Sun sign as your soul -- your inner personality and potential -- and your Moon sign as your heart -- your emotional core -- then you could say that your rising sign is your physical self or the face you present to the world.

The sun (to integrate) in Pisces (Impressionable and Inspirational)

You can take in beliefs very deeply and you are inspired by them. You are able to adapt to new situations (mutable). You are motivated by emotions (water) and may be driven by them (passive). Your focus is on the world (public) and you may be religious or mystic.

The Moon (to react to) in Aries (energetic and urgent).

You tend to react to things emotionally (water), although your response is swift, short and soon forgotten (urgent, cardinal). You feel things deeply, but not for long. You can find new things to react to (enterprising) and you express yourself from your own feelings (active). There is an honesty about this (active).

Rising Sign is Taurus (Enduring and Possessive).

You give the first impression of someone who is calm, centered and very self-confident in an earthy and modest way. Whatever your Sun Sign, with Taurus Rising, people may lean on you when they're in a bind because you seem so dependable and logical. Those are the positive Taurean traits. If you're unlucky, you may give others the idea that you're a little stubborn and boring, more a plodder than a doer. Bulls are tenacious, though, and you'd do well to learn to use that perceived characteristic to your advantage!

Sun sign...and here we goes: we bicker again.

Your Sun is your POTENTIAL ! Not many realise that we evolve all the time and it takes a life time if ever to know oneself.

I know many astrologers will say the ascendant but I disagree. The ascendant represents the mars energy : the way you want to be viewed in the world and how you act upon your thoughts and motivations.

The Ascendant is what you project ! Some people have very meek ascendants and not reflecting their true nature at all. It is a Cardinal house.

Of course if the Sun and more planets find their place in there, the more truthful you will find the person is.

But the ascendant can be a mask !! Consider the opposite : the descendant (7th house) where one gets to know one (if habited of course and with no major dilemnas in there) on a very personal level if they allow to be it.

Of course some "out there" theories claim that we should aim towards the ascendant but consider that some ascendants (Gemini..etc) are very prominent whilst others (Scorpio) have a very short life span.

It is said that the ascendant is how we were programmed to view the world at birth..capricorn : cautious and hesitant, leo : there I am ..etc ..etc..

The ascendant is certainly very useful because it does give attributes but does it reflect the person ?? NOPE !!!! Not always..especially when negative aspects touch it or no planets are found.

I have been fooled myself many times..absolutely convinced by the ascendant until you get to know the person a lot more in depth.

The ascendant is one of the major cardinal houses and one of the 4th most important along with the 4th house (past, unconcious, emotions, subconscious), the 7th (descendant) where one gets the most personal and can show their real true selves if they want , and the 10th which represents status in the world, aims in life, ambitions etc..

It really depends from chart to chart !!! One cannot separate one element from another one......that would be like just looking at a window but not having the picture of the full house and what is happening indoors.

One example which comes to my mind is one person who had several planets AND the ascendant in Virgo. That counted of course ! But that person was intended and expected to behave likewise and poor fiery Sun in the 12th house..suffered a lot in silence..

AGAIN : you have to consider the WHOLE chart !!!!! and progressions and how people live and swift from one energy to another as they grow more mature etc..

You might have a look and ponder about your moon in Aries and your cardinal sign..one thing in common iis anger which can be positive or negative of course depending on how it is utilised.
