I recently purchased a pressed powder that comes with the lovliest little powder puff...but it's already dirty, and since I use it on a regular basis in a hurry on my oily skin and with dirty hands, it's harboring a bit of bacteria. How do you wash powder puffs?

soap and water really is the only way to do it. If its too delicate for that then just lightly rinse it with water and a little gentle detergent and it should be good

Mix a solution of a mild shampoo or baby wash with warm water. Let it soak a minute or so, then rub it gently with your fingers to remove the powder. Rinse it thoroughly, then gently squeeze out the excess water in a clean washcloth or towel. When dry, fluff it up.

You should always change your puff and buy extras....using the same one will just transfer the oils back onto your face. Another alternative would be using a brush as opposed to a puff.

Throw it away. You're right as it does harbor bacteria. You can purchase more of these puffs at walmart, kmart or where ever makeup is sold. Uhhhh, toss it out.

rub with baking soda to absorb the oil. maybe put in a ziploc and shake it with the baking soda. may take a few times to really absorb it. place in direct sunlight for an afternoon to kill bacteria. then place in another ziploc with salt and shake it to scrape away residue.
