sidious intentionally threw the fight so ani would intervene.or at least thats my opinion

True, Sidious can see the future, and knew Ani was on his way. He threw the fight, but could have easily beaten Mace had he wanted to.

It is true that was the case, but only because the oppurtunity came because he walked in. I don't believe Sidious would have had his face disfigured regardless of his goals. Mace had Sidious at the end of his sabre before Anakin walked in. I bet Sidious was beaten, but when he saw Anakin struggling with his inner feelings, he began to take advantage of the situation to save his life.

Of course Mace is stronger for one reason and one reason only...it's Samuel L. Jackson! And nothing, other than God Himself, beats Samuel L. Jackson.
