Of course not, religion is within. My moto is that I just make it a habit to show my face to God before you show it to the world in the mornings.
As long as you talk to and recognize God you can do it where ever you like.

Well I'm not religious either. I am a Christian, and I go to church every week. I have found that for me and my husband that going to church helps us grow in God. The more we are involved with the church family, the more we feel the Spirit of God within us and around us. And it really helps to know that there is always someone to talk to, and if we need something, there is always someone there.

I'm not religious at all. I'm more spiritual. I don't believe that church is the only place to know God. I actually think if there is a good, the best way to get to know him is on your own. Church's try to teach how to think, how to believe, they don't want you to think or question for yourself, therefore, in my opinion your belief is hampered by the church.

I tried to not go to church for a while, and just read the Bible and pray. But I found that, doing that I wasn't getting to know God, that much. On the other hand, when I went to church it helped me get to know God, cause I could take notes during the sermon and refer at those notes later..and read the bible more closely. Doing that helped me remember...and apply what I learned in my everyday life.
It depends on the person and what their comfortable with..
Alot of people don't like to go to church for a lot of different reasons.....

There is a big difference between religion and spirituality.
If you are talking about THE God of the Bible, then to get to know Him you need to read His word, pray for understanding and a deeper relationship with Him, by faith receive Jesus as your saviour, turn from sin and try and live a life that is more pleasing to God and seek to fellowship with believers.
I am praying for you!!

I'm not religious, I'm spiritual so I don't usually go to church. I think God cares about your intentions more then your actions.

No in order to get in touch with god or jesus if you prefer, you just need prayer. Surrounding yourself with the same kind of thinkers can make the experiance more powerful but church's just ain't what they used to be.

The only purpose for church is so you can be around others that believe the way you do. Also so you can get strength from them as well

i dont think you necessarily HAVE to, but its probably best, becuase the preacher has based his whole life on studying about Jesus and his works, and every week he will share something about that with you. plus if you go to church you can meet other believers and have conversations with them. but you can also just read the bible and do research and study like bible comentaries and stuff like that.
