Yes, I would. If death were certain for everyone, the only compassionate thing to do would be to inform them. At least they would have those days to prepare for their own death, make amends if they could, and say good-bye to their loved ones.

most people wont and the reason is the feeling of hopelessness it would cause in someone. Look at those who are terminally ill. Many go through multiple stages starting with denial.
The same would go for me if the world was going to end and there was nothing that can be done I wont tell a single soul but i would go and do everything I didnt get to do but wanted.
