I have a new HP Pavilion Media Center a1730n PC, it has a 320GB 7200RPM SATA hard drive in it, I want to add another one inside, I'm new to all this SATA and stuff, I'm used to older windows 98 computers with the ribbon cables for the hard drives, so I'm clueless on how this one works out, I don't know if I can even put in another drive in here cause i dont know what to look for in this type of machine, would a Seagate 300GB Internal Serial ATA Hard Drive work in this machine as a secondary drive?

Really a slot issue--is there a slot for it in that machine. As far the install process, very little different from adding an ATA drive (which you probably did in the 'old days). New Macs have 4 or 5 slots for additional drives, not sure about the HP...

Hmm...a reviewer says there is room. You might want to give it a try

First, check to see if you have another SATA port on your motherboard, should be color coded red or black. If so, you will have to buy another SATA cable for the new Hard drive, mount it in a 3.5" drive bay, hook it up to the motherboard and connect with your power supply.

Next turn on computer, goto

Start Menu > Administrator Tools > Computer Management

Tab the Storage button and find Disk Management, it should read the new Hard drive. In that window you can partition the drive, or format it. You can change the drive letters to it as well.
