coal dust stain?

I wiped coal dust on marble hearth with water. This has soaked into the marble as it dried and left a stain . Any ideas on shifting it without damaging the marble?

I've cleaned this off of cement using Oxy-Clean. But I'd experiment in the least visible spot on your marble before proceeding.
