I agree that equal opportunities are deserved by everyone, but polls taken in the Army itself show how little those serving would want Gay individuals serving alongside them, and sexual tension has and always will destroy efficiency. So; really, it's a matter of principles, does our desire to be just outweigh the negative effects a repeal of Don't Ask, Don't Tell may cause? What are your opinions on the matter?

I believe what I always do. Gays are in the military. So are lesibans. Just because we don't know about them doesn't mean they aren't there. Some military people don't want them there but don't they have the same right to protect and defend their country?

What negative effects? Aren't we suppose to accept everyone equally? Does it really matter? I think it's the stagimna. People just need to get over it.

Why has this become so important? Of course I believe in equal rights for everybody but until you have ALL people educated regarding gay rights and every other thing out there, there won't won't be equality. Everyone has to get on the same bandwagon or equality will fail.

I agree with the Don't Ask/Don't Tell policy. Actually, when one is in the military they become SOLDIERS. I don't think anyone's sexuality should come into play. I feel that a person's physical strength and intellect will be determined and fully realized by the military. Nothing else should really matter. After serving your country, you have the rest of your life to live with, whom and how you please.

Sounds as if you want to be asked, then you can tell. I bet everyone already thinks you are homo.

As Barry Goldwater said "Soldiers don't have to be straight, they only have to shoot straight."
