I am writing a fantasy/fiction book and there is like, a group of witches/wizards and I named them Council of Witchcraft and Wizardry but then I realized it sounded to much like Harry Potter(Hogwarts, School of Witchcraft and Wizardry) so I need help thinking up a name for the group.

I just need suggestions. I orginally put Council of Magic. Help?

This is what the book is about before you ask =):

600 years ago, Artamus Callaghan opened the portal leading into the magical world from the real world permanently. When word got out that magic had entered the real world, war broke out amongst the two worlds. And every witch and wizard that was found would be hung or burned at the stake. The war has been raging for over 6 centuries. Will it ever come to an end?

Hmmm. how about the council of warlocks.. or is that too much like the wizardry?
How many members are a part of the council? Maybe use seven members, since seven is a number that is considered to represent good. The Council of Seven. I don't know if that throws off the plot though.
Council of Order. Council of Sorcery. Council of Artamus.
Sorry if none of these are creative enough. Your book sounds really fascinating. I hope to someday read it. Let me know if it ever becomes published! It will make my "To Be Read" pile.
Best of luck!

Well, I thought The Council of Wise, but that sounds Tolkien like.....so why not just call them The White Council, or The Cabinet, The Chamber, The Wise, The Hall....Hope it helps.

For your type of book, have you ever read the Terry Brooks ***Shannara*** Series... about 7 of them I think. Terry is one of the original pioneers in the field of the Fantasy/Fiction Books.

His Triology of *Running With The Demon***Knight of the Word***Angel Fire East* Is a definate read for someone such as your self who is just starting out- it is pure knowledge of the use of words... the ability to twist the minds of your readers so they will flip page after page becoming mesmorized.

Witches & Wizards Council (Consort)??? - Don't forget in *fantasy* you may make up any name you wish...
GOOD LUCK
