Animal crackers and small biscuits, fruit snacks, small toddler safe toys, what do your toddlers like? Break it down to bite size pieces and put in eggs. Or put tokens inside the eggs that represent a larger prize.

My toddler has always gotten toddler appropriate snacks in his. Gerber makes fruit snacks for example, or those Fruit Puffs. This year, since he's almost 4, I am going to put a puzzle piece in each egg so that when he finds all the eggs, he'll have a puzzle to put together.

For boys try getting larger plastic eggs and put toy cars inside. Girls like plastic jewelry or fake makeup.

When all else fails, put a bell in each egg and glue them shut. That way they'll make noise when the kids find them, but they can't get into them to eat the bell.

Truthfully, toddlers are so little they may not expect anything inside the egg! They'll be thrilled just to find the pretty egg itself. You can serve toddler-friendly treats and perhaps give small toys or stickers as gifts, but there doesn't need to be anything inside the eggs themselves. Truly.

I wouldn't put tokens. I don't think a toddler will understand the concept of getting more tokens means a bigger prize. You could have healthier treats inside, like real fruit snacks or goldfish. Or put in cars, stickers.
