Goodness, Herodotus.
I remember Leo Strauss defending deception to "protect" the moronic masses. Who could forget Bismark, and the rise of The Second Reich . . . realpolitik? Niccolo Machiaveli just LOVED deception and manipulation. But lately we have began to CLING to these lies, as if our very lives depended on it. Why? Lying, to be certain, knows no such boundaries as mere Party lines.

Have I read your history for you?

They don't get punished. Did you read about Tillman? As a result, As a result nine officers, including four generals, apparently lied or covered up something their was no reason to lie about. If they were cadets, they'd be severely punished. Is there no honor anymore?

Lying is getting to be so popular because people are afraid of the truth. They are afraid of what others are going to think about them if they tell the truth about themselves so they build up all the truth inside and the lies come out.
