in animal crossing ds how do you get a dog?

WELL some one said if you get a golden shovel and then you go to your bed there will be a dog under it and it dident work!

The closet thing you can get to a pet dog is to buy the doghouse, put it in your home, walk up to it and press A. You'll hear a growling sound, but you won't ever see a dog. The only dogs you see are the ones that are neighbors.

You cannot get a pet dog. That is one of the worst fake cheats i have ever heard. The only dogs are those townspeople that live in your town eventually.
